Activities and Days Out in the Lake District
The beautiful English Lake District is truly hard to beat for both indoor and outdoor activities. Offering a host of attractions for all ages and abilities, The Lakes has something for everyone come rain or shine.

Exploring
- Take the Windermere Ferry (vehicle/cycle/foot passenger) - only a few minutes from Storrs Gate House, and spend the day exploring the peaceful countryside between Windermere and Coniston. During the summer months Minibus service 525 runs from Ferry House – Hawkshead – Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre and also calls at Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top House.
- Viewpoints within walking distance – Post Knott and Biskey Howe – both with stunning views of Lake Windermere.
- Cockshott Point – Reached in less than five minutes from Storrs Gate House, Cockshott Point has a lakeshore path (wheelchair accessible) with magnificent views of the lake and which takes you into Bowness-on-Windermere.
